In my opinion, the 3451 is best. Logs tend to fall out of the other one when dumped from the loader. The stakes on the older car tend to keep the logs where you want them.

I had just gone back to edit my answer when you posted. Yeah, I seem to recall the "messy" dump with the later ones, but there is no requirement of either type for the loaders.
You can use either. The logs lay down nice and easy with the 3451 type, whereas with the other the logs kind of jump out, which is ok, the wall of the log loader keeps them in the tray, but if I had my choice the 3451 would be preferred.
Thanks, Bill, Joe, and William. Fantastic news, since I own TWO 3451 cars that are in excellent condition. I even replaced some missing posts on one of them, and, of course, replaced the wiring.
