I have an MTH Premier FEF steam engine that appears to use 3-48 x .250" hex head siderod screws. Does anyone know the MTH part number for these. 20-3044-1. Alternatively has anyone found any alternate sources for these? Many sources for 3-48. Nearly none for full thread hex heads. Lionel offers shouldered hex heads I could machine down but would like to save that step. I have near zero luck getting a response from MTH either by phone or email.

Thank you Chuck. Those look like the ones but another forum member beat you to it. I have what need coming. Good to know the part number though.

Bruce, I assumed they were metric too but these are not. They are larger diameter than a 2.5 and coarser thread. I have M2.5 x .45 and they would onlly go in about 1 turn. I started looking for M2.6 x .5 but they don't exist. Thats when I realized they were 3-48. Lionel also uses 3-48 in some of their engines. The one screw I did have matched up with 48 TPI on my thread gauge.
