My layout is sectional and I want to join the sections with Molex 8-pin connectors (which I have seen referenced by several modular O scale clubs). I need to purchase the correct ones which are sized properly for the electrical drains of O scale trains. Can anyone post a link to what I need?
Thanks.

Here's a link to the LCCA modular standards (don't know if you have to be a member to see it):  https://www.lionelcollectors.o...manual%20ver%202.pdf

Here is what it lists for connectors and terminal strips:

8 Wire Harness - 60 inches long Del City Part #74825 - delcity.com

8 position terminal strip Del City - Part #70018

The instructions were written in 2012, so I don't know if those part numbers are still valid or available.  IMO, if you're only doing this for yourself; i.e., not to connect to other people's modules, you could probably use any connectors that are used for trailer lighting connections - just make sure that they will handle the amperage.

The product that I mentioned and GRJ linked is used by LCCA for modules, so I think you can be confident that it can handle the draw of a couple of trains.   That product has 3 12-gauge wires and 5 16-gauge wires.  A quick search for maximum amps for 16-gauge yielded multiple answers (imagine that!), but the lowest maximum was 10 amps, and 12-gauge will handle at least 15 amps.  If you have a modern transformer, you'll trip the breaker before you exceed the capacity of either size of wire.  And if you don't have a modern transformer, add a fast-acting breaker.
