I installed a AC Sounder in one of these about two years ago, with fairly good results..except for volume.  Now I have three more of these machines that could use something similar, so the question is...beyond the Sounder, what might be my best sound options?  Really not looking to dump a fortune into these FMs, but if I can improve on the Sounder without killing the bank account...that would be awesome.   I'm thinking somewhere in the $75 to $100 range would be about right, but then I might be off track here.  What can you folks recommend ?  The sound does not have to be perfect FM, as EMD 567 non turbo is close enough in this case.   That's what I'm using off the Sounder chip now.  Lots of extra features not needed either.  Thanks !

Since then, I've found out that the Sounder AC from MRC is now only available with two sound sets....MP15 and SD45.   MP15 would likely be the closest to what I need. Also checked out ERR, and their FM is the same as their EMD 567 sound, at least on the link I used.  This will be great when I sound up my Big Illinois Central F3 A-B-A set.   Might wind up using two different sets between the four units I have to convert.   FWIW, The MP15 sound would be quite close for an H16-44 / H16-66 effect.

Hey Jaygee--good ear. You're right, the ERR sound file demo was indeed pointing to the wrong engine type, an EMD567. I fixed it, the correct ERR Fairbanks Morse sound set can now be heard here. (https://soundcloud.com/rrsounds/fm)

Please give it another listen, it is an authentic FM prime mover!

That's better !   Probably a 1600 HP OP engine, not quite "beefy" enough for the big twelve banger Train Monster engine, but it will work.  FWIW, the info on the newest Sounder AC came right from the MRC customer rep. on Friday.  He also said that there are older units out there for people who want to track down distributors with the old four prime mover chip.
