Has anyone on this forum ever detailed a LIONEL/MTH/Williams "Scale Hudson" making it to resemble a C&O "Hudson" 4-6-4 Passenger locomotive. I know that Lionel/MTH made a steam lined version, similar to the "490" thay exists in the B&O Museum. I'm wanting to do one, and I thought that any of you guys may have aready done this,and  I could get a heads-up on which model and tender that you used for your bashing model?..............................Thanks in advance.................................................Brandy

Where do you get these Lobaugh Greembriar components? Do these folks make detail parts for "O" guage trains, or am I missing something here? If I am please excuse my ignorance, as I'm getting re-aquainted with O guage after many, many years hiadus from the hobby!

I just remember seeing those engines pull the western segment of the George Washington in to Louisville's Central Station in the late 40's, early 50's. I saw plenty of the F-19 Pacific's with the flying front pumps on the smoke box, and several of the non streamlined hudsons, + several of the Streamlined Hudson like the only one thats left in the B&O Museum. I actually saw this engine in Louisville sitting behind the old NYC roundhouse at the foot of Preston street near the river, many times. I just always thought that the C&O Hudson was exceptional in appearance, and were the largest and most powerful of all the "Hudsons" that were built.

L-1 Hudsons were 490-494, 490 is in the Baltimore Museum. 300=307 were L-2 Hidsons. 310-314 were L2a of which were the largest/fastest/and most powerful ever built.

They offer a good pdf catalog on line, and what they don't have give them a call. They even off a multitude of different drivers both spoke Lt/med/hvy, Boc Poc lt/med/hvy and tires to go with those. By no means am I trying to be a Know-it-all on this C&O Hudson subject. I just remember seeing them at the old roundhouse in Louisville,Ky where I grew up as a kid. I always thought that the C&O Steam Engines looked more powerful and massive, than what the rest of the railroads offered in Louisville area, that is with the exception of the 2-10-4 J1a Pennsy. I met an old fellow after moving to Ashland,Ky that started in engine service on the C&O in 1942, he was hired off a school playground @ 14 years old, in Pikeville,Ky because WW2 was taking about all of the railroaders for the war effort. Well anyway, when C&O would do a major overhaul, they would make shake down runs to Elkhorn City,Ky which was where they made terminus with the Clinchfield RR. My friend had pictures of about all of the different sizes that C&O ran on their lines. I fell in love with their Hudsons/Kanahwa's/Greenbriars. It makes it better when you personnally can talk in depth with a person who actually fired, and engineered these locomotives. I feel sorry for the kids coming up today, that probably will never get to see any running steam locomotives. If I'm alive-n- good enough health when UP gets the 4014 shopped out/up and running, I will make the trip to enjoy her!..... Brandy

If you have anymore C&O Hudson pictures please, please post. As a kid I would see them behind the roundhouse in Louisville, or running parallel to Frankfort Ave, coming into or leaving Louisville going east to Lexington via L&N trackage.
