I HAVE HAD MANY PHONE CONVERSTAIONS WITH MADY AS I PROVIDED ANIMATION FOR HIS LAYOUT BACK AROUND 2000. HE ALSO DID A PBS SHOW AROUND THEN.

HIS LOVE OF SINGING IS HIS REAL PASSION, MORE SO THAN ACTING.

HE PREFORMED IN COLUMBUS AND MY THEN WIFE AND CHILDREN ATTENDED THE CONCERT AND GOT TO DO THE BACKSTAGE STUFF, PARTY ECT AND THEN HE DID GO TO MY HOME AND SEE THE REST OF THE ANIMATION THE HE HAD NOT PURCHASED YET.I WAS AT OUR TRADE SHOW IN FLORIDA AND MISSED THE CONSERT.

I WAS PUT TOGETHER WITH HIM, AND OTHERS, THRU A PERSON AT YORK THAT BUILT HIS LAYOUT AND WAS ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR INTERESTING THINGS.

I STILL HAVE A PHONE NUMBER FOR HIM IN NY, OUTSIDE OF THE CITY.

Mandy Patinkin was kind enough to autorgraph a few stills from the movie for my daughters.  They were quite young and Princess Bride was their favorite movie.

I love that movie, too.  William Goldman, the novelist and screenwriter, said it was by far and away his favorite work.  That's some pretty heady stuff considering Goldman also wrote Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All the President's Men, Marathon Man, A Bridge Too Far, Absolute Power, and a dozen others I'm forgetting.

Goldman's ability to write memorable dialog is a treasure. In one of his books, he confessed that his secret vice was to go to a screening of "Butch Cassidy" and listen to everyone in the theater saying, "Who are those guys?"  His other memorable line from All the President's Men is "Follow the money."

I don't think 60 Minutes is worried. There obviously are millions who disagree with your analysis.

"60 Minutes, the most successful television broadcast in history, is in its 47th season on the CBS Television Network. The broadcast begun in 1968 is still a hit in 2014, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10. Over the 2013-14 season, 60 Minutes continued its dominance as the number-one news program, drawing an average of 12.2 million viewers per week - almost twice the audience of its nearest network news magazine competitor and three million viewers ahead of the most-watched daily network evening news broadcast."

As you followed the interview, you get a sampling of the genius, or may be obsessive/compulsive personality.  Eventually you are thinking: How did he work model railroading into all of that?? But there it was.   Quite a personality, maybe one of kind?   It would have been interesting to know the LHS that worked with him. You're thinking the LHS personality would be almost the same.

Thanks,   I would have miss it.

Certainly was an interesting piece though when he says, "We modeled..." or "We made..." makes me wonder who the other person in "We" is and exactly how much of the modeling was done by Mandy.

BTW, has anybody on this forum equipped the underside of their layout with obvious permanent workshop type florescent tube lighting similar to what was shown on Mandy's layout?
