Mark, congratulations to you and Kim.  I always enjoy seeing a genuine down to earth good guy gets well deserved recognition.  In this case a good guy and his wife.  ...

+1 ^^^

Good luck with the surgery, Mark.  I marvel at, and am thankful for, what medicine can do for us.

Wow!  Page 2!  I am overwhelmed with the wonderful comments!  Thank you everyone!

Ted, I have an AmeriTown kit I have selected to build, and maybe the Atlas O signal tower, (my late uncle gave me that kit in HO as a teenager back in the late '60s.)  I have 3 laser cut kits in my little workshop, but am going to leave them for later.

Andy, Congratulations on subscribing.  I prefer the bulk of the OGR articles better than CTT because I am a scale modeler, but they have some great stuff for prewar and post-war besides current day.

Jim, It is absolutely amazing what today's medicine can do today.  I saw my wife get both knees replaced, and my friend a retired machinist who is getting his knee replaced Friday, has been asking all kinds of mechanical questions about it that I never think of.

Joe, Thank you very much!  I try to encourage everyone I can.  I was a lone wolf modeler for 30 years before I found the Internet, so I always want to share especially with the less experienced folks.

Okay, found it over on page 622 I think. I also think you may have posted this on FB as I believe I saw it there unless it was in Weekend Photo Fun. Regardless of where, it is one heck of a Christmas Layout Mark.

Dave, That is it!!  Page 609 to 622.  I forgot I had completed it before December 1st!  That was because I was laid off in mid October.    I am not sure if I posted it on FB, If so it would have been on Harry Henning's Tips and Tricks page, where I am one of the lesser active admins.  I probably did put it on Weekend Photo Fun.  Than you for clueing us including me in on the end for everyone.

I like things neat when they can be. I do remember when you said you were laid off and we all said what a bummer. The Ray of sunshine was the layout.

Thank you Brian!  I had written in the name 'Mount Brian' on the simple layout diagram I submitted, but they left it off the wonderful diagram in the article.  There is an honorable mention in the article however.

Now is the time to thank each and every one of you who made a suggestion, an attaboy, a 'like', or any other word while I was building this layout last November!  I also wish to thank everyone on the OGR Forum and the OGR Staff for providing this Forum to exchange ideas!  The only thing that would have made it better for me would have been if the article was in OGR Magazine and not the other magazine.  This is in no way criticizing anyone!  The article fit a niche one editor wanted to fill.  They are two very different magazines with some overlapping focus, but in other ways much different focus.  I do hope to one day be able to do something with my scale layout build that can be shared with the broader readership of OGR Magazine; the King of O Gauge Railroading, in my opinion.  Thank you everyone!!!

Mark, I just got my CTT magazine today and read it first thing.  Great article and I really liked the layout, Brian, nice suggestion.  Alan, I agree with the rest of the guys, very classy answer.  Like Mark, I subscribe to both magazines, I just like reading them and I get some great ideas from both.    I like CTT and have had my subscription for longer than I can remember, when I discovered OGR magazine, I immediately got my subscription and have maintained it each year.  CTT has nothing on OGR, they don't have a forum like we have here  and I really don't think that OGR has anything to worry about.

Mark, best of luck with your upcoming knee surgery, I hope all turns out very well and your recovery is quick and hopefully you'll not have too much pain.  Make sure you do you PT and don't cheat because it hurts.

Thank you everyone!!

John, I do hope to see you at York in April too!

Eric, Sam, Joe, Thank you!!

J. Motts, Thank you!  Great statements about the two magazines!!  How true!

Don't worry about the PT.  I have been on PT about half of this year.  First for the slipped discs and right leg damaged sciatic nerves, and then preoperative PT for the left knee.  My wife just had her second knee replaced in July, so I have seen what goes on.  Besides, she is an RN and a real trooper.  She will keep me on the straight and narrow!!
