Fort Pitt TCA has an O-Gauge PRR Railking Flatcar, carrying an S-Scale ( symbolizing a narrow gauge delivery to a spur line.  This is the first in a series of four such combinations raising funds for our 2017 National Convention held in Pittsburgh.  The cars sets are very limited...only 100 produced...70 presold!

These sets are ready for shipping...NOW.  For an order form, see our website at: hobbytraincollectors.org .  The set sells for $110 and $ 14 shipping. PA residents must also add $7.70 in sales tax.  The car's graphics make this Car "smoking hot!"

Second car is in the planning stage now.  We think the next car will be a flatcar road name to be Nyc-Erie, or pittsburgh- West Virginia.  The load will be an s-gauge flatcar with vats for oil creek and Titusville/ drakes well( if we can find these items). If not, it may be a tank car for pen soil, wolfs head,or another oil city Titusville oil company.  The other cars we have spoken of are s gauge coal hopper for east broad top, pittsburgh and castle Shannon combine, ligonier valley timber flat, all of this is contingent on production availability.  Hope this helps.  Rick

Hi Rick,

There's another S manufacturer, albeit a small one, called Des Plaines Hobbies. They have the S Scale America line of tank cars, box cars, steel reefers, and others including some modern cars.  I believe one of the clubs in Ohio had them do a custom run of tank cars some time back, however, that was before all the problems with the Chinese manufacturing plants.  The owner there is also named Ron.

Hi Rick,

I'm not sure if you are the right person, but I had a few questions about the history of the Marsh Wheeling car.  I read that the company started making cigars in 1840 and established the plant in Wheeling in the early 1900's.  I was wondering if cigars were being shipped in reefers at the time?  Did cigars have to be at a certain temperature or humidity when shipped?  Was this based on any actual cars owned or leased by the company?

It's a very attractive looking car and it would be nice to know more about the history.

Thanks, Mike A.
