I have a few old Marx engines that need repairs and would like to try to fix these myself. I am looking for a repair manual, wiring diagrams, or something similar. I called Robert Grossman, but they do not have anything. Any leads would appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob

Marx did not have the extensive repair information that Lionel and American Flyer had. There is only one book that has extensive Marx info in it, and it is long out of print. Robert Grossman apparently had it in the past. Using basic repair techniques should get your locos running again, and many parts are available for repairs.

There are different variations of MARX, the CV trim for sure. One of my CV's was different, smoke bulb, e-unit, plated rod, welded headlamp visor & no trim ring. Ive heard dept. stores had customized variations for sale too. I for one would be more curious about the mechanical or trim variations than having yet another semi-generic "how to wire a locomotive" book. How in depth/accurate are the books on production changes? Does one shine above?
