Cbemboom,
A spring would go around the brass stud and then the pickup would snap over the ends of the fiber board. If the nubs are missing then the whole fiberboard assembly needs to be replaced and that is a harder repair that I have not done. Maybe someone will know here.
Here is a Marx parts supplier.

Cbemboom, I have performed that particular repair on low end Marx, that is not going to be fun on that engine. The wheels will need to be removed, and the frame opened so as to properly install that part.
Here is what I have done on this repair. First I assume you have the spring, correct??
Next cut a small piece of small brass rod or tubing and super glue it to the end of the fiber board so that about 1/4 inch is hanging off the end. You will have to bend the brass strip a little to fit over either end, I would fit over brass tube first and when in place, just bend it backc enough to stay on the insulator. I did one like this 2 years ago and still working....

I will pay for the part and shipping I appreciate all the help. Is there a email address I can send my info to for the part.

Cbenboom,
alternate fix. If you want, I have that same loco. the motor is intacted and runs like a top. the shell is busted up and needs to be replaced. If you want this loco and just swap motors you can have it. just email me and ill send you the loco, yours for the taking, no parts to replace.
Thanks
