I have accumulated a lot of Marx trains over the years that I have packed away and would like to begin researching them as far as age, variations, categories, rarity, oddities, etc., I'm hoping someone can refer a book or a website, similar to Tandem and Associates, to me that is available that will help me with this task. All of the pieces are postwar to prewar. I'm not looking for valuations on these at this time, just want to know what I have and get them all sorted. Thanks for your help.

Lots of books on Amazon.
There are at least three Greenberg books on Marx, the third, Bob Whitacre 's on sets, may be the hardest to find .
There was a member of my train club in Jersey named Tom (Thor) Sheil. He was our resident expert on Marx trains. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago. Fortunately his website is still active and contains a wealth of info on Marx trains. He also belonged to this forum- Thortrains.
Enjoy-
There is a fellow on THAT AUCTION SITE that sells CD copies of the Greenberg guides. AIUI, these are perfectly legit legally but can be a bit of a pain to navigate. They run about $20.
Thank you all for the replies. What I have been using for Lionel postwar is the large David Doyle Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains 1945 - 1969, it has been very helpful over the years. Is there a similar book for Marx? I would like to buy just one book such as this instead of multiple books.
You might also consider obtaining a copy of Walt Hiteshew's 'The DEFINITIVE Guide to Marx Trains' - considered a valuable resource by many Marx collectors.
This is Walt's 'MARXTIN' site: Marxtin, your place for Marx trains. (toyandtrainguides.com)
The menu for navigating is on the right-hand side. At the top of the menu is a link to the Marx Guide (a new page will open; scroll down to see a link to the Marx CD).
