McKeen with roofWork in Progress - Making up McKeen car from Bob Thon (Roberts Lines) shells. He was never able to get a roof done (and then there is always the issue of drives). Pardon the trucks, call them 'shop trucks' if you will. The roof is 3d printed from a CAD model made by a good friend. Fits well. The brass portholes are machined from cast brass rings and sit flush with the shell. Hoping to have this one and it's machining trailer on display at Spring York. I most likely will make up a pattern and cast the roof, but for now, the prototype will have a plastic roof. Doors will be brass, and will have Trickel cast vents on the roof.

Standard Gauge - car is about 26" long, trailer is about 24" (not shown - yet).

This is a really nice model, 3d printed and plastic body (I think), nicely done, G gauge.

Mine will be all metal, tinplate, lots of brass, standard gauge. I'll have to make up a pattern to cast the roofs, (just got the first trailer car roof printed up).

Hoping to make these sometime after Spring York, pretty busy until then with other stuff (Challengers, B&O E1A's, the GG1). Might have a prototype at Spring York. Maybe!

Moe’s is definitely 3D printed plastic. He is looking into adapting them to 3 rail STD Gauge.

I don't have many regrets in life, but buying a Rich-Art reproduction litho American Flyer passenger set instead of five McKeen cars for the same price when they were available new is one of them.

Kirk,

What five McKeen cars were available from Dick Meyer, i.e., I bought two trailers from Dick but he produce four different trailers?
