There is no "fix" that's how it works and what the sounds were recorded as.

I've considered making custom boards as a side project using Arduino and off the shelf MP3 players, and then you could customize like crazy.

It's possible someone modified yours, but again,  not knowing what was done, it's near impossible to "fix".

Post a video of the problem (or audio) but again, without cracking it open, it's not like there is a switch for singing voices to be off.

I purposely modified my McDonalds to reduce the volume of the music (easy enough, it plays when the motor is moving the vehicle) and returns full volume when the ordering window and pickup window dialogs happen (the car is stopped). I cheated and used a relay and a resistor in series with the speaker that is triggered by the vehicle movement motor.

In theory, someone could use an external MP3 board and trigger events from the various switches or motor movement- all while retaining the original board.

Vernon and Jon G,
All of the videos I can find on youtube have back ground singing, just like in the link that Vernon provided.
I will make a video of the Diner I have tomorrow and post it, so you can see that only the music plays and there is no signing.
Thanks,
John

Again, is yours new, used, modified? Unless you open it up, unknown.

Point being, that's not something users can edit or turn off.

Jon, Vernon and Alan,

After taking a video of my newly acquired (and used) Mel's Diner, that I was going to post, I found another youtube video that has exactly the same music, without singing, as mine.

Also, I just found out that MTH made (I think in 2011) a Harley Davidson Operating Drive In Diner, 30-9170, which also has only music (the same as mine) and no singing.

So now I have 2 Mel's Diners, one with the same music and singing as provided in the links by Vernon and Alan and the other with only the music , the same as the Harley Davidson Drive In Diner.

Mystery solved, MTH made at least 2 versions of Mel's Diner, 30-9105 .

Thanks everyone,

John (TCA 77-11520)
