Did you make that model? That is AWESOME! I would love to have that on my layout.

Happy Veterans Day Remembering those who have gone before.

And let’s not forget that Freedom is not totally Free, without someone who has Sacrifice Their Life for some other person.  Remember the ones who have Sacrifice some part of them self and are still with us too.

One Nation Under God.  As long as we remember Him We are and always shall be under His Graces…

God has those who have gone before us.

Hope you have a Blessed Veterans Day.

In my oppinion the issue about the right to fly the Stars and Stripes was settled back in 1776.
However in April of 2002 here in Flori-Duh  Jeb Bush tried to settle it again by passing a law that says any homeowner can fly a flag provided the flag is portable, removable and is flown respectfully. The law was spefically meant to target and override Home Owners Associations' rules that restricted the Flag.
The issue that remains is that HOAs now use architectural rules to go after the Flag Poles instead of the Flag.

I went down to Harbor Frieght and bought a couple of Telescoping Flag Poles for our Memorial Day and Veterans Day displays which honor all of our ancestors. The tradition started by Dad: at sunrise raising the flag and lowering it to half staff than at noon the flag is raised to full staff and all the other flags are added to acompany it.

Some of the examples above is one of many reasons that I have not, and refuse to, live in an HOA community.

As to the original topic, as a former Navy vet myself who's been over to the Gulf a couple of times, I always give appreciation to those that have given their lives over many generations up to this very day to defend our country and our freedoms.   Citizens can certainly disagree on the politics involved in the skirmishes we've been involved in including the fighting going on over in Iraq and Pakistan, but please don't disparage our troops that are simply following orders and with the desire to do the right thing.

I too recall not being safe wearing the uniform off base early in my career.

Thankfully that has changed.

Just missed Nam but deployed in Desert Storm twice. I got the easy part.

For all my Departed Family Veterans, Thank You.

I Fly a flag all the time, But I put out a New one Monday morning.

The old one was fading and had developed a small tear along the bottom at the end, it will be honorably retired.

I too will never live anywhere they have a rule about my Flag.

I was happy to see 28 flags between downtown and my home this weekend.

It is a small rural town, those seem to hold the old ways longer.

Jim M; Very nice model.

SouthernMike: Thank You sir, very nice presentation.

To all fellow Vets, Stand Tall & Proud, You did your duty.

The guided/mis-guided policies in Washington by a bunch of men who really do not represent us any more, should never have a bearing on honoring any service men from a time of war, peacetime or in the reserves.   Every vet should be proud of their service and every American should thank them at every opportunity.
