I'm puzzled. When I first put my set of four Menard's flat cars with CFD ambulance on the track a few weeks ago I seem to remember that the lights were all flashing. Then they were removed for a while. Yesterday, I put them back on the track and pulled them around the layout for a few trips--lights were on but not flashing. I stopped the train and decided to remove one car to see if there were a switch on the underside of the car or the ambulance itself that would go from lights on to lights flashing. Couldn't see one, so I put the car back on the track near the end of the train and then manually coupled the other 3 cars to the one I had just placed on the track. It was sort of a vigorous sliding of the cars together to assure a coupling. Just as they coupled the 4th one (the one I had just examined in hand) started flashing. None of the others were.
Does anyone know if there is indeed a switch? If not, what is the default status from Menard's? Lights on or lights flashing?
The Z-4000 was showing 18 volts with about 8 amps. (I had at least 10 other passenger cars on the layout all lit and well as all the lights from the 25+ MTH Realtrax switches that on in the layout.)
Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.
