Mine arrived and i dropped everything to open the box and play with it.  It reminds me of Woodland Scenics built ups, only it is made of wood, the interior is a bit better (more realistic, more 3-D) and the lighting is far cooler.

Nice detailed look to it. Good texture on the bricks, nice windows and signs.  Display window is nice.

Front of building is quite nice, and you can see inside through the windows.

I had a hard time taking a picture of the interior - had to back the lights down to 3 volts, too much glare otherwise.

That has to be the most detailed, feature-laden boxcar even made, for $19, given an entire train set is $30.

On the back side wall, a nice pictures of Jack!

I think this damage was done when I unpacked it.  The utility service came off and the top of the ladder broke.

They will be easy to repair, though.

Here is a video of the really nice feature, the lights . . . it has the power jack although here I am jumpering it from a battery back, a switch on the back to turn the lights on, and a small button that starts the store signs blinking.

Yeah great Lee! I was holding off, deciding if my town is ready to support a new business. With this rave review, (very good also) I'm taking the plunge. Real estate has been found, and a new corner for the boys/men to hang out at besides Sully's. With all the "Menard" enterprises popping up, the locals are starting to refer to the town as "Menard, Illinois", instead of "Momence, Ill.". Understand some of the businessmen are wanting to write "Jacks" name in as next Mayor also.

Thanks for the report, Lee.  I'm eager to see how/if you will mod this one too.

I swear, this time of the year is normally when I start dropping off of the forum a bit but with all of this Menards activity going on, I need to be on here at least once a day still!  It's almost like the Nov/Dec time period now year-round with all of the Menards excitement.

As always Lee, great review of a very nice model!  Thanks Menards!  I actually am going to have a few bucks left over after I pay the tax man.  You Spence, Mark, and Bob have done a lot to sway my decision this way!  Oh oh!

One more ore thing, the boy looking in the window has to be me!  I waited a long time before I was able to save enough money for my first train set back in the '60s.
