Anyone know if Menards has a customer service phone number. I am trying to buy some items from them online. their system is not accepting credit cards for some reason. there does not seem to be any telephone number to call order in. strange for a big company trying to do ecommerce.

They may have a customer service number but it would be closed now. As a whole they are m - f something like 7- 4 I would imagine. You may try contacting one of there stores but if you place an order with them your going to pay sales tax also.
Or try again in the morning.
Try:
- Menards Customer Service, Phone: 1-800-871-2800 - think it is a M-F number.
And when you get to that number, they will direct you to either send snail mail or email and explain your problem in detail. You will have no contact with a human being. I have tried to contact Menard's on different issues during this year and have had this happen each time. Good luck, you will need it.
I've contacted them and they have been top notch. If you have any issues, I would be surprised.

They did not charge me sales tax. But then again, I am in California where they do not have a brick&mortar store.

As is customary with online sites, generally only if the seller has a physical presence in the state that the buyer is from should that state's sales tax be collected if there is one.

If true, that's a shame. But I did make phone contact in the past year. The site wouldn't work for me either, I just ordered at a store in the long run
I don't do buisness without talking to people anymore. When I encounter lack of "people" I move on. I just dont want too much that badly. I dont care for the excuse of "other companies do it" either.
I bet that the actual ordering can't be done by voice & phone for internet tax loopholes to apply, nut lack of phone contact and /or "hiding" it, is just cost cutting apathy concerning customer relations and unfortunately, imo it is becomming commonplace in buisiness.
That said, wait two days for slow updates and fixes and try again

He explained to me that because it was being sold in a store in WI. he had to charge tax. I wasn't dealing with a online site ( which you do when you order from the on line site ) I was dealing with an actual Menards store.
I have ordered from them "on my landline" and no problem speaking with a "human". Have your order ready, your credit card in hand, and before the day is gone you will have an email confirming all.
I'm having trouble contacting Menards. How long does it take to get a response for email? I tried several phone numbers and a few stores without anything. Hopefully Mark will chime in and contact me.

This number conected to "Big Card customer service" (i think thats what was said); never heard of it.
A trick I use everywhere: Being polite, but firm, disappointedly ask for the store manager, ask for "a phone number for corporate", then relay the issue to the manager. Asking for headquarters phone number usually wakes up a lackluster manager with drifting thoughts. Done in person with a tie on, folks start jumping around saying " sir" a lot.

Perhaps longer over a Holiday weekend...
Can we assume you have gone to the website, and sent an email from here?
Please try this email guest@menard-inc.com This is the dept. that will take care of you.. Bob
Thanks to everybody that replied. The 1 800 number is for a capital one credit card, and I did send an email from the website. My wife ordered my Christmas presents from Menards and it was sent in two different boxes. The second box had issues and she tried to call and get it resolved. She was getting frustrated and I posted here.
Cabinet Bob, I will try that email.
Thanks again,
Bob
That email address got quick results for me. My Wally's station arrived with the rotating sign broken off at it's base. Emailed them on Tues. morning. I had a reply, along with a printable return label, by mid afternoon on Tues. That is pretty darned quick.

"Big Card" is what they call their credit card. I get tired of the cashier always asking "Will you be using your Menards big card today?". Sometimes I just say no before they finish asking.
Menards emailed me back and is working on a solution. I'll let you know how it works out.
