Hmm... I went and clicked on "Ship to Home" and it just says "sold in stores". Too far to drive.

I ordered, and it went straight through along with the rebate form
Didn't work for me, don't know why. I guess it's a signal that I don't need them.
Looks like that only applies to the variety pack (Sold in stores).
John
I just checked Illinois and Wisconsin and received the following: "We are sorry 6-Piece Assorted O Gauge Modern Tank Car Dealer Pack is currently not available at any of our stores."
Saved my self some money.
cabinet Bob,
Could you please call someone and have them correct this problem. I'm sure a lot of people would like to purchase these beautiful tank cars. cabinet Bob, what is the price per tank car or are they sold only in a six pack.

I hate to point out the obvious, but I went to the Menards website and found all the new tanks cars along with the prices for individual cars and 6-packs.
A little IT problem tonite on the 6 pack. The individual cars are ok to order.
I just ordered the Sinclair and the Pepsi!
cta4391,
That was my fault. I only looked at the new six pack that had no price and I didn't look any further.
355 miles to the closest store for me. If my son was still a student at WVU it would be worth it.
Rats! I was gonna try to track down a UTLX car, and realized they were too modern for my era.
I just ordered the Sinclair and Texaco, no problems.
Well guys here are the ads I recieved:

Thanks for posting @cabinet Bob, and for the additional images @Allegheny!
Here's a direct link to our website. The assorted 6-pack should be showing up this afternoon.
Thank you,

Great tankers. Had to have a couple. I'm gonna be one of those guys and say that I wished the Sunoco tanker was in chrome or silver.
But I'm grateful for what we were given.
A request, please...
If any forum members receive these, please post some comments specifically on the operation of the trucks / wheel sets. No more for me until those issues are resolved.
Thanks.
I bought a 6 car set of Army diesel tank cars and all where fine except one where one axle on each truck was not in place. Judging by the difficulty in putting them back in, this could not have been a shipping issue, but a QA issue. They all seem to operate just fine to me. Just don't like the fact that the 10% discount does not include online sales, and their packing and shipping seems a bit high, but still an affordable way to get O scale rolling stock.
I love the Sunoco. The Sinclair is eye catching. I hope they do a Gulf.
I like the look, but I've pretty much decided to forgo any more Menards rolling stock until they address the QC issues with the trucks.
gunrunnerjohn,
Hopefully the truck issues have all been corrected.

Now if they would correct the truck issues that give these such a high water look. Almost high enough to drive a car under them. It won't matter to many folks, but they sit too high for what I'm looking for.

I'll wait for the user reports.

I couldn’t agree more with gunrunnerjohn. I bought three cars from Menards and they have all had issues. I guess if you like a challenge they are okay.
Has anyone swapped trucks on these To Lionel , MTH or Atlas?
Hoping for better trucks - between the cost and effort of buying a separate pair of trucks, why not just buy a car from Atlas/MTH/Lionel?
Offer a HOOKER CHEMICAL tanker and I would be very interested. Two-railing will cure any truck/stance "evils" for my use.

425 for me so the s&h is a lot cheaper than driving.
They look good. How close are they to scale size?

Early discussion when they were first introduced seemed to agree that they were the same size as a RailKing modern tanker. so the answer depends on what particular prototype you're looking at:
Which one of these tankers are "scale"?

I'd love to get these, but we purchased 3 of the Lifesavers cars last year, and they all had issues with the trucks. I don't care about "scale" or "sitting to high", etc. However, on those, the wheels weren't quite far enough apart, so the trucks tended to --more so on one end than on the other-- always "seek" instead of riding true on Tubular track (Lionel or Menards). They derailed quite a bit--especially if they were coupled together or if they were at the front of a train. As a result, I cannot really trust them anywhere but just before the caboose, and they run even better with non-Menards cars between them.
However, these are $5 more than the modern era tank cars sold for last year, as I recall, so I hope that this price increase doesn't just reflect inflation but also better QC as far as the trucks go, in which case I would be happy to buy them!!
I love the looks of the Sinclair and Pepsi cars!! (Though I must state that a Coca-Cola car would have been better, y'know. I was looking at them, complimented the looks of the Pepsi car, and was called a "traitor" by my family member. )
I purchased several of the Menard hoppers about six months ago. They look, priced inexpensive, but like others I found the trucks problematic. They did have a tendency to derail at times. I’m not saying I will not purchase Menard cars in the future but I think I will wait for the reviews if others first.
Definitely purchasing the Sunoco and Sinclair tankers.
Since there is a Pepsi tanker, I’d like to see a Sprecher Root Beer tanker considered for future production.

The new hoppers have shorter steps to eliminate the trucks from hitting the steps

Ummm. This is a Menards topic Jim
Your right Cabinet Bob, Therefore, I have deleted my post.
Purchased 3 (Sinclair, Pepsi & Texaco--disappointed there was no Ocaxet!); will test and report soonish. (it's gotta be soon, as the train comes down for the Christmas tree to go up!)
I picked up the Texaco one at my local Menards tonight. They had one of each on the shelf. The wheels have been hit or miss in the past, but these were very smooth out of the box with no tweaking.
