Yeah, it's a collectible all right.
Will it become as valuable as a factory error from Lionel? I'm not holding my breath.

Kinda apples vs oranges right??? Unless someone is selling our posts for a profit a spelling error here or there is pretty minor. Add to it the 'self correcting' some devices do, fat fingers on small screens (me) and the results of 'modern' 1970's era education that had NO traditional teaching (reading, spelling or history....again me) coming home to roost.......

It can be displayed next to "Mermack", "Nortern" and "Huck Fin", just to name a few of the mis-fit spelling errors of the past.

Y'know in the grand scheme of things, to me it's a don't care. Would you rather have Menards, warts and all, or no Menards? (and when I was typing this, I fat-fingered it Mendards. Guess it was subliminal. Thought it was funny given the context of the thread...). Me? I'll take Menards. Yeah, granted, it would be nice if all were perfect with the cars, but I'd rather run a consist of 5 Menards cars with an error or two than a consist of only one car because that was all I could afford.
Not a spelling error, but did anyone else notice this on the Red Owl wrapper? “On that faithful day in 1955...”
Faithful? Me thinks they meant “fateful,” but I could be wrong.

I remember making a model of John Glenn's "Frindship 7" when I was a kid. 
PS spelling things wrong is usually the most effective way to find things on Ebay! 
Those are some good ones and much appreciated. I played on ferocious flag football team for a while sponsored by a lovely pub named Durty Nellies. One of the organizers and players on the team, his business made rugby uniform shirts mainly, so naturally he supplied our game jerseys. We were the Durty Nellies Spanish Flies, and in a league like that, you can run into some rough dudes on occasion, so being organized and looking sharp doesn't hurt. One year I got a Spanish Flies jersey in forest green and packer puke yellow with a four leaf clover on it that said Durty Nelllies on the front, 51 on the back. I'm still proud to wear it, despite the colors. It happens. In the heat of battle.
Of course such mistakes aren't prototypical, but don't tell the Sansa Fe.........at least until they switch the door back......

The shade of red applied to the sign is far too dark to represent the real Chicago & North Western herald.

Methinks this is fast approaching a, shall I say it, a rivet counter thread. The misspellings and incorrect color paint and such things give these toys a bit of character. Now, if you are purchasing a $95,000 Jagour, then, I believe there might be room to complain.

You'd have to tell the BNSF. The Santa Fe ceased to exist in 1995.

Yeah that bulletin board.
I worked in an area where the guy who ordered the signs had no grasp of spelling or grammar. We got things like "Lunch is from 12:00 to 12:20, if bell is ring, door will not be answer" at the receiving dock. And "Watch for moving equipmen" on the shop floor.
