We have received the 1st preproduction samples of our brand new, high tensile O gauge tubular track! We are so excited about it that we simply MUST share it with all of you!

As you can see, we have been rigorously testing this high-tensile track (It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it!). Take a look at our track’s superior strength. I doubt two pieces of any other track would hold up like this! Remember, she’s a highly “train”-ed professional (pardon the pun), so please don’t try this at home J.

Trial #1:

Our attempt to stand on one piece of track didn’t work so well. Luckily, our engineer was there to assist.

Track Test 1

Trial #2:

Two pieces of track worked perfectly! Try this with any other type of track and see how it goes!

Track Test 2

This is top-quality, high-tensile tubular track and we plan to have 10” straight and O-31 curved pieces available for sale around November 1st. More sizes will become available in the November to December timeframe and all sizes should be available in early January. We will sell it in two ways – by the case and by the piece. The quality looks outstanding!

If it gets here early enough, we hope to have it in the stores as part of our Christmas set. Otherwise, it will be for sale online. I hope this helps you with your layout planning!

Thank you,

Mark the Menards Train Guy

Interesting.  Is it absolutely going to be 30" for the long piece, can't be 40" like some other O Gauge tubular?

Looks like a great endeavor.  I'll be keeping an eye out since Lionel seems to be slowly headed towards abandoning tubular.

Looks very interesting to me.

I still use that tubular track.

Its about the only way to get through the kitchen, into the dining room, under the chairs, back to the fireplace, up on the carpet, and then silent running.

Keep your feet in the air or else straddle a track lest you get a surprise.

With some lower price points we might have enough track to make it into every room.

Remember trains aren't just for the Christmas tree anymore.

The whole house is fair game.

The track she's standing on looks about 30". I'm wondering why no half straights and curves?  Also, From the photo it appears the wide radius curves shown have only three ties..

Lee,
Mark says these are pre-production samples in his first post, I would not expect them to have them on the website yet.
franktrain

I can't find the track on the website. Have found freight cars but no track. The website is not all that user friendly for me.

Can somebody, like Mark, at Menards post a direct link to the track?

I went back and read the first post again and "franktrain" is correct, these are pre-production samples. I was expecting to find the track and prices, but guess I will have to wait for now.

First I would like to say it is very nice having some one who represents the mfg posting and commenting on new products or improvements to existing products.THANK YOU

Secondly I want to make it clear this post is not to start controversy on bait anyone it is me wondering out loud.

About me I am a tinplater through and through I enjoy prewar o and standard gauge and have not bought a new train in a long long time , however I love to watch and see were the hobby is going.

Thought number one.I was at my local Menard's and looked at what was being displayed lots and lots of nice new stuff great to see something new and not a rehash.

Thought number two. The only complete set at my store was the big L  with fast track , and the only other add on track to be available according to my local store will be tubular ? now quite possibility they are misinformed

Thought number three this is a big one , I wonder , I wonder if a complete set from Menard's can be far off .  ok ok don't blow a gasket yet

Thought number four. or maybe just a expansion of thought number three , I wonder what the power pack will be / the operating system / the compatibility with other mfg.

Thought number five  . I have done to much thinking for today

It is very exciting and interesting to see some humor brought back into the hobby , for to long its been to stuffy , and one last thought , wouldn't it be great to see some one make a simple set / priced with in reason . something to expand easily

with out compatibly issues , kind of like legos each may have its own them but all compatible with each other.

last note. The legos i bought for my son are still played with my grandchildren and great grandchildren and we add to them regularly

Just another old guy with funny ideas  Gary
