Mark,

Merry Christmas to you and your Menard Train Team and keep up the good work!

Your new Military Train Rolling Stock has been just great, especially the Box Car Nose Art Cars, just fantastic original stuff!  Just received the latest one the other day, no picture of it to post yet.  Keep making them, they are just fantastic !

Merry Christmas to all of you at Menards and thank you for bringing to market affordable trains and buildings. I really enjoy the boxcars as they look to be from the same design as the AMT/Kusan Boxcars which I enjoy finding. I always enjoy visiting Menards when back home in Portage/Valparaiso Indiana. We could really use a Menards in Roanoke Virginia.

Mark and the Menards train team

Marry Christmas to all and thank you for everything you folks have done for the hobby.  I cant even tell you how much fun it has been this past year waiting with excitement for the weekly hints and releases.  I truly have felt like a kid again.  have a blessed and safe Christmas / New Years.  looking forward to 2017.

To the owner of Menards and everyone else there who has anything to do with these train products - especially Mark, the front man for Menards on the forum - YES, a very Merry Christmas to all of you.

And a thank you for taking this endeavor into 3-rail trains. Who would have thought only a few years ago, that a regional home improvement chain would generate so much interest with their train products, when in the meantime several other companies have gone out of business.

One easily could get the impression from reading this forum that there is no traditional train product market anymore, which is simply not the case. We traditional guys want to buy trains without paying a subsidy towards the tooling of high end products. We all know the Lionel traditional rolling stock is now priced almost on par with the pricing of scale products... and sometimes even more. But that's Lionel's decision. As it is the decision of many traditional operators to not buy brand new Lionel anymore.

As you have probably noticed, we traditional operators are much easier to please and are very happy Menards has offered a reasonably priced product with comparable quality, and customer service that rivals and even excels that of the major established train companies.

Thanks and merry Christmas Mark! A year ago at this time I had a lot less rolling stock.  With Menard's releases over the past year, that has changed!  Now I have full yards and full shelves & always adding more.  I'm in California, so I can't run to a local Menards to buy more shelving.... that business goes to IKEA.  Build some stores here! Lol!

Merry Christmas to you and yours and the whole Menards organization.

I have been a big fan of Menards for years. I actually have an autographed pic of Ray Szmanda on my wall.  Then you got in to O gauge trains!  So many of my preferred manufacturers have closed since I got into the hobby.  The remaining big 3 make some great products but most of them are well out of my price range.  I am so glad that you have come along with good quality traditional rolling stock at affordable prices prices.

I look forward to what you have coming in the new year.

All the best.

Ray Szmanda still holds a place on Menards website. I love the three TV ads the company includes of Ray along with a short bio. Funny as it seems, I have many fond memories of Ray's commercials, especially the Christmas ads.

Hey, Mark, since Ray was the Menards Guy, and you're the Menards Train Guy, how about a video ad with you just for us train guys?

And since we have Jack the Dog making an appearance on quite a few Menards model buildings, how about a figure of Ray somewhere?

DSCN2189Mark,

Just opened my Christmas present from Menards, and we have a little problem, it was not packed in a box as all my other Military Nose Art Box Cars have been, and when I opened it up there were no slide clips and spacers holding the Trucks on to the Box Car frame.  The person responsible for putting the Box Car together failed to do his job properly, and who ever boxed and shipped the package from your store did it improperly. Further I need some slid clips, and spacer flat washers for the Box Car, to put it together correctly, would also like a box to store the Box Car in.  Got to admit this is a 1st for me with my Menard's  WWII rolling stock, please correct it for me.

Every Menards I can think of in recent years has been built from the ground up. Menards has typically replaced its older smaller stores with larger, custom-designed stores with a unique configuration. The Waukesha store is two floors with an open center allowing the first floor to be viewed from above. It also has a unique magnetic wheel-locking escalator that allows shoppers to take their shopping cart up and down the ramp safely.
