Back in the mid 1960s, just married, went shopping to Macys, Long Island? Just getting into train, in the clearence toy section was three 773 scale hudsons reduced to 100.00 each with tenders. Only got one with a lot of begging to my new bride. Wonder who got the other two.

You should have bought all three!
Great deal! Just curious: Did you ever replace the plastic tender?
In 1966 the catalog (list) price on the 773 with New York Central tender was $90.
Maybe the price was better than you recall.

Says a lot, especially at the outset of a union. Wonder what she was thinking.
What, me worry?

Roosevelt field? The only Macy's that I remember on Long Island...
There was a Macy's in Huntington too at the Walt Whitman Mall.

There was a Macy's in Jamaica, (Queens); does that count as being on L.I. ?
I know the pure Long Islander's will say no.
I believe that was May's if you're referring to the dept store at the end of the former terminus of the Jamaica El. I had a white May's HO box car when I was a kid.

I know the May's store your talking about, just east of the end of the el, J line. But there was a Macy's on 165 St., north of Jamaica Ave.
