Happy Wednesday, everyone. My sleep cycle is off this week, so I figured I would get this thread started now, before sleep on this Wednesday morning.
Followers of Steamtown may have realized how interesting the last couple of weeks have been, as the motive power for our half-hour Scranton Limited changed nearly every day. For two days, the park utilized RS3 no 4118 from the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad, while repairs took place on traction motors of Lackawanna F3 no. 664. Normally, the Alco power is used on excursions, so this was a treat.
4118 handed over Scranton Limited duties to Central of New Jersey 1554 for one day, also.
The Electric City trolley in Scranton runs 4 days a week these days, and I caught their early run departing the boarding platform at Steamtown.
F3 no. 664 was back in action last week, looking as good as when the paint job was fresh in 2010. How time flies.
Now, for the steam fans among us. This is the Nay Aug Gorge Limited, a Sunday-only train led by Baldwin no. 26, our faithful and reliable 0-6-0.
How did you do in your chase of steam, electric or diesel trains the last few weeks? If you nabbed any good shots you would like to share, this is the place. Have a great week. See you next Wednesday.
