A long time hobby shop in the Milwaukee area, Happy Hobby in West Allis, destroyed by fire last night.

For those of you familiar with the shop it was home of the old Garmins hobby shop on National ave.

If it was related to any type of hobby they carried it!

They have (had) 3 locations in the Milwaukee area.

Some of you may have stop there over the years while going to Trainfest as it was only about a mile from State Fair Park.

"the place was a dump, mildue and mold in the store, water dammaged boxes from a bad roof.  the Milwaukee area has other hobby shops that are alot better than that place was"

"There was no order what so ever in the store. Aisles where full of clutter and junk laying all over."

Dear Lord, it's going to be yet another compassionate year on the forum!

I MUST AGREE WITH MARK & Mike

I have been at that location & the other two.

All three are MESSY , SMELLY, MOLDY , BARELY LIT UP, Major NEED OF HELP !

The one on Burliegh & 78st in Milwaukee is only one I would step in in recent years.

THAT Son tries to keep up that one the best he can.

The one that burned down was a lawsuit in the making ! the Last time I was there Water was leaking on me in the Ho section & O gauge area.  The store was barely lit up .   the floor was slippery in areas.  Boxes were damaged by water.

Lately I heard you had to call ahead to set up an appointment to get in .

the last time I was there was two years ago. I was never going back to that location .

I wont go back to their Good Hope & 76st either.  Last time I was there, I kneeled down to look at something. The carpet was soaked in Dog or cat **** ! Need I say more ! GROSS !!!!

I am reporting  this as I experienced it !
