Does anyone know a source of micro/min hoop connectors to use for ground wire connections etc??

I'm sure that we can help you find at least one example of what you're looking for, if we know exactly what it is.
What are hoop connectors? Could you show us an example?
You may be giving them a name that most of us don't recognize, and thus that doesn't return any hits when you Google it so you can't easily find them.
I can sympathize. I've had this sort of problem before. I couldn't find "bridle rings" for my do-it-yourself Ethernet and Coax TV cabling job in my basement:
The problem was that I didn't know that that's what they were called. It took me months to find them.

Sorry I guess they are called ring terminal wire connectors. Looking for terminal to work thin gauge 24-28 wire.
Here's what's easiest to find, and will fit over a #6 screw or stud (like a transformer terminal with a thumbscrew):
The challenge is the 24 to 28 Ga wire. These terminals for fatter wire (10 to 22 Ga) are relatively easy to find at auto parts, hardware stores, and home centers. i.e. Home Depot, because fatter wires are found in many, many things, like automobiles, appliances and furnaces.
Not so for 24 to 28.
You probably have to go online to get these, although you may have an electronics store nearby that would have them as well.
Here's an online listing from Amazon:
26-24 Ga. Nylon-Insulated Ring Terminals, 6 Stud - (Pack of 25) (12/09/23) | Amazon.com
There are other online sources like Digi-Key, Newark, and Mouser but they're generally more expensive. I checked AREtronics online (successor to the recently closed All Electronics) and found the typical problem: None for 24 - 26 Ga; plenty for larger wire.
As far as brick-and-mortar stores I went to West Marine online to see if my local store would carry them. Same issue with wire size. And, Radio Shack, although largely out of the brick-and-mortar retail business, does still have a few local affiliates. Unfortunately its website has apparently had a meltdown today and is showing only a generic message "There has been a critical error ...".
Let us know what you decide to do, and how it turns out.
