Just got this Missile Launch sound car. I operate Legacy. The manual only refers to TMCC operation, or conventional.

Have been playing with this for some time, and other than getting only what sounds like a diesel sound, I get no other sounds or commands. No "crew talk", no "Hold your Fire" message, or any other announcements.

Have attempted to change the ID, ran all sound functions with the Legacy remote and nothing.

Is this not compatible with a Legacy remote?

Thanks

RAY

It works fine with the Legacy system but needs to be programmed correctly. How is it programmed?  What control type?  Should be used either with TMCC or CAB1 NOT Legacy RS.  It should also be set as the same ID as the missile launch engine.

I just purchased a 6-34730 missile launch sounds car #44. Lionel says it is to be used with 6-21788 Missile Launcher #44 ('02-'03). I am considering purchasing a 6-18462 Missile Launcher 44, which is listed as being able to be fired manually or by TMCC TrainMaster Command Control.  Will they work together or should I continue looking for a 6-21788 Missile launcher?

You are correct.  The sound car I have is 6-36730.  It's great news that the 6-18462 is the same locomotive as is in the set, since the one I am considering is in much better condition and lower cost than the "6-21788" (with no box) that was advertised.

I played many hours with a #44 as a child and the youtube videos of the new version with the sound car look awesome.  I recently purchased a Legacy system, so I am looking forward to working through the instructions and putting a smile on my, my son's and my grandsons' faces.

Thank you for your response.  You made my day!
