I've got a new PS 3 engine without a battery that has capaciers.  Can a PS2
engine with a 3V battery be used in a lash up with the new PS3 engine

More PS2 PS3 Lash up problems. I'm using 2.40 and  when I construct the lash up, both  engines add correctly,
and I assign a new address for the lash up.

When I Power up the lash out, the PS3
does a un-commanded start up after about 10 seconds. I cleaned the track clean the wheels all the normal stuff. Then when I shut off the PS3 engine with another handheld that has that address separately the engine shuts down properly. Then when I start the lash up, both engine start correctly. However only the PS2 Engine moves forward and reverse. The PS3 engine remain stationary. It also goes from no smoke off to smoke on.

Then when I shut both engines down and do a restart about five seconds later, Both engines start again correctly however only the PS2 engine moves forward. Then using another remote with the PS three engine address, I can restart the PS3 engine and it moves back-and-forth with smoke off as a normally functioning engine. The PS3 engine works correctly when it is the only engine and not part of a PS2 and PS3 lashup

What seems to be the problem here or what am I doing incorrectly? I have been working with Mth engines for years and have never run across these problems with PS2 engines.

I'm running a PS3 ES44AC/PS2 SD70ACe consist right now.  Works great.  One thing I have noticed thought:  the ES44 takes a good 10 seconds or more to start up, and if I try to take off before it is through it's startup routine, I get odd behavior.  The SD70 is ready to go RIGHT NOW after startup.  Not sure if it is a PS3 thing or just odd behavior from the ES44 in general.  But they run great together - I just have to remember to let the startup play out... which is fine... because it is good
