Time machine in Manchester is almost obsolete as far as trains. Stopped in after a long absence and the whole train floor is practically gone. Nothing left but some old stuff that nobody wants and is worth nothing. The rc hobby and toy area is still doing well.
I believe the only currently functioning shop carrying trains is Branford Hobbies. Original founder helped AC Gilbert build layouts (Frank Castiglione). Owned by his son.
Just about 10-15 minutes east of downtown off 95, as mentioned.
Amato's has been around a long time. They purchased a lot of Flyer parts at the liquidation sale in the 1960's. You can read about it on their mail order website. Store website says they have trains.
Amato's still has trains in both their locations. Quite a good inventory. Layout in each. You'll pay sticker for just about everything, but it's fun to shop.
