Does anyone make a single or 2 rail modern coal tower Like one that NS or CSX would use today. Im looking for what fills up the coal cars. I saw one being used on a episode of extreme trains episode coal train NS

Are you looking for realistic scale offerings or just something that is priced decently?
Plasticville by Bachmann has a coal tower that can be had for a decent price. Don't know how realistic it is for what you want.

Coal tower? I'm not sure what you are asking? Certainly, you don't mean for servicing engines.
I am not aware that NS or CSX would be using coaling towers....??

While CSX & NS won't be using the towers for their engines it may be for an electric company that uses coal for power.

Since neither NS nor CSX operate/service coal burning steam locomotives, they no longer have any "modern coal towers".
Now, coal mines DO have "modern coal towers" used in loading coal trains. Is THIS what you are asking about?

I think you are referring to a coaling tipple? BTS makes a very nice one. K & P does, too. Lionel has a more reasonably (and smaller) priced one (shown below). There are several variations of this, differing primarily in color scheme. Mine is 6-12736.
Hope this helps.

hrspla,
If you have a picture, e-mail it to me and I can possibly construct it for you.

Coaling tower made from a 1/32 farm silo. The coal conveyer ramp to the right brings the raw coal from the coal tipple to the power plants conveyor pulverizer at the bottom of the tower.

yes a coal tipple is what I'm looking for a modern one Thank you guys.

Actually now in the "modern era" of coal train loading, they are referred to as Silos. The empty coal train moves VERY SLOWLY underneath the Loading Silo, and the empty hopper or gondola cars are "flood-loaded" while the train is moving.
Is the loading of each car manually controlled or automated?

Sort of both, i.e. the actually "loading" is started and controlled by the "Loading Operator". The "flood loading" is generally stopped automatically when the amount of coal reaches a specified weight in each car (yes there is a scale in the track, beneath each car, underneath the loading silo).
Do they make a model or kit of this

And inside the silos are either flood loaders or batch loaders. The batch loaders follow the flood loaders to make sure the correct weight of coal is carried/loaded into each car.
We call them 'flood loaders' here in WV......and I know of no model like them unless it's a craftsman kit offered by a smaller company. The idea above of using a 1/32 scale silo and Plastruct is GREAT......a silo and conveyor is all you need. Plenty of pics on the net.
Inside of the silos are a series of large funnels.
You can purchase large square funnels for bird seed or large industrial circular funnels.
Support the funnels over the tracks with PLASTRUCT Beams glued of the sides.
An opening chute would have to be made or found to open and close the funnel.

Unless it be a monorail, what I am not familiar with is a "single - - rail" railroad . Please, enlighten me .

NG&SLG had an article on a monorail ore hauling railroad in So Cal early 1900's.....but just a bit rare!!!

Here's a short video of a modern Bituminous coal silo.

That has got to be one of the most boring jobs that could be automated.
However that would make a fun accessory given that we can now move trains very very slowly.
O scale Scratchbuilt Coal Tipple made from Styrofoam Sheet
This O scale Coal Tipple is made from 3/16 inch Styrofoam Sheet and stripwood. It has interior detailing and lighting. Not all details shown. It serves two tracks.
Overall dimensions: 88 feet x 150 feet x 128 feet (except for conveyor and mine building).
The structure is constructed as 4 separate buildings which "bolt" together. The "headhouse", "screening" building, car "loading chute" building and "maintenance" building. The "conveyor" section and "mine" building have been recently added.
The structure can very easily be disassembled and stored in individual boxes when not in use. The interior of each building has separate removable floors which will be detailed and painted. Interior and exterior LED lighting will also be added. Not shown are the coal chutes for loading hopper cars.
Notice the walkway and stairs added to the "headhouse" down to the ground floor. The stairways and railings are Plastruct O scale parts.

I'm guessing that the OP meant a single- or dual-tracked coaling tower.
