I'd like to thank members of module groups who give their time, money and effort to bring our hobby to the fore front of the public.  The public doesn't see the hours you spend constructing, finalizing your module(s) and transporting it to the show site the day before.

They don't realize your personal cost to drive to the site and possibly staying over night.  To the public it is a bunch of guys having fun with their trains.  You bring the best there is, whether tin plate or very modern brass. You probably answer the same question ten times each session and put up with some clown dropping coins to short out a rail.

Thank you,   John in Lansing, ILL

I haven't seen the coin trick on the tracks yet, but we have had kids try to take cars off the track as they go by with the predictable consequences!   However, the payback is watching the kids eyes light up when they see all the action.  I especially like the ones that run around the layout as a train goes around trying to keep up.  However, it is a lot of work, but what else would I be doing with the time?

I've been a member of an N-Trak group for about 15 years now, give or take.  When we're set up and running at an event, I love the look of those little eyeballs intently watching the trains as they pass by.  Following and chasing the trains around the layout.  The gazes of wonderment as the trains glide smoothly over all the track work, through the hills and towns.  Trying to count all the cars on the train.  Those few frightful moments when they fear a head-on wreck is imminent, and then the instant relief when the trains pass on separate tracks.  The shear awe of it all!!!

And of course, the kids get a big kick out of the trains, too!

The club I joined is in a rural area.  Not many indoor events to set up a large layout.  So, they went outdoor and mobile.  Some members built the covered trailer on an old boat trailer.  Great design and really works.  At the end of the day, just store the trains, lock down the sides, and everything else travels as is.

Lionschief are great ambassadors to our hobby.  One thing to let the kids watch, another to give them the control.
