A little different angle for me; I thought I might share some of my photos based on locations. I hope you guys like them. If not just ignore them. I will add a few here and there. And by all means add some if you’re own if you have them.
I took this about 4 weeks ago when the Aspens were at their peak
I like doing glint shots and getting glint on the Moffat is a trick to understand when the sun will make a correct placement to make it work. Keeping a log book helps me do this and some websites.
Blue hour is another favorite this one taken east of Tolland.
Up high over Pinecliff is a fun place to shoot in any weather
Some occasional visitors make for a unique subject at Tunnel 1 near Coal Creek Canyon
Plenty of snow in the winter to be had too! Here an all blizzard just east of East Portal at Tolland.
With all that snow at Winter Park we need a Ski Train they just call it the Winter Park Express these days.
Of course the storms come out in Spring bringing a glory impossible to capture in a photo. Here the MNROY rolls upgrade towards Chemical out of glorious severe warned thunderstorm
Nothing like that 5-10 minutes of golden glow at sunrise on fresh powder while the Winter Park Express kicks up the snow at Leyden.
It’s always fun to shoot heritage power on the hill. 1982 for a brief time made a most coveted morning light appearance last summer seen here at Plainview
Amtraks California Zephyr is a regular following closely the original 1949 versions schedule seen here near Coal Creek Canyon on the horse shoe just past tunnel 1.
Of course capturing Silver Solarium and friends on the back of number 6 in near perfect conditions at Tolland with Rocky Mountain snow capped peaks is a blessing.
A few more mountains after all that’s what the Moffat Subdivision is all about. Tunnels and mountains.
I hope you enjoyed a few snapshots I took. We have some really talented shooters on OGR, check out Kent From South Dakota his night shots are spectacular. I will add more so check back.
