Hey Alex!
I sure would like to see that in person.
Is there a chance you folks will have another open house next summer?

Looks great!!!
That harbor scene is coming along really great Alex! I also like what you did to the bridge. The extra planking looks super.
Your welcome Alex!
Is that a silk city bridge?
I always wanted to get one. I keep saving and then something pops up. I need a big bridge!
Nice work Alex.
Very Cool!
Nice work as always Alex.
Hello everyone,

Hello everyone
I was able to pour the expoy yesterday and this morning, it came out very nice. I poured the first coat which is about an 1/8 thick yesterday, and the second and final coat this morning which also is about 1/8 thick. It's suggested to only pour an 1/8 of an inch at a time. It's fairly easy to do if you follow the instructions exactly. Once you pour what about 10 to 15 minutes and you will see air bubbles start to develop, now it's time to get heat on the Epoxy. The best method is to use a torch, but I strongly suggest only use a torch if you have experience using one. If not a hairdryer will work good too. Never leave the heat in one spot, keep moving it around and stay 6 inches away from the Epoxy.
Thanks , Alex
Alex,
I like the way the water came out with the EnviroTex! It really looks good!
Very Nice!! I have used EnviroTex Lite in the past with excellent results as well. You are absolutely correct, READ and FOLLOW the directions. I really enjoy watching the progress of this VERY NICE layout! As always, Nice Work Alex!

Wow, that is great looking water!
Oooh Map gas? You needed extra heat?
Alex:
Would a heat gun work ok, or too hot? Really like the look, I may try that in the future.

Fantastic Alex! The water came out very nicely, but the whole scene is a real eye catcher.
Andy
Very nice!

Hello everyone,
I thank you all for the very nice comment's
Neal, I think a heat gun would be fine, just keep it 6 inches away from the epoxy and keep moving the heat gun around. Don't let it stay in one place for any length of time.
Joe and John, I know LOL map gas is very very hot and i highly suggest no one uses it if they don't have experience using it. I've been using map gas for 25 years so it's safe for me to work with it. For anyone else who's going to use this method just use a heat gun, hairdryer, or you can use a torch, just use regular gas (not map gas)
Thanks, Alex
U DA MAN!!!! Keep us posted very nice!!!!
Must have been a very calm day in the harbor, the water looks like glass! I think you're right about the torch, I'd use a hair dryer, it's more gentle heat and is less likely to light something on fire. I use MAPP gas for plumbing, but probably not for this use.
Not train related, but I just poured an epoxy coutertop for my laundry room. I was very satisfied with the results. I don't remember the brand of epoxy I used, but it went on pretty smooth. I only had a couple small spots that bubbled and just a little heat with the hair dryer cleared it up. My first thought after finishing was, this would make good looking water!
Alex nice work. Did you paint the area under the epoxy 1st? If so with what color? It came out perfect.
Man, this looks really amazing. This is some great inspiration!
Great Job Alex!
That looks terrific! I can't wait to see the new layout in person.
