A Jim Cohen Lionel 5 reproduction recently found its way to me.  It does not have a motor.  I'd like to power it to run it on the layout.  Neither a Lionel super motor or Bild-a-loco motor will fit.

The 5 has a frame that looks like the straight frame in the Lionel 33.  Will a motor from a 33 (earlier, straight-frame, pre-super motor) fit in the 5?

Joe is definitely a source for info and new replacement motors and I'd like to add yet another source. Bob Hannon repairs early Lionel motors and just did a Lionel #6 motor for me and a #5 for a friend. There is a good possibility that Bob has some original motors or knows of a source. Bob Hannon can be reached at hannon@trainrefs.com.

Thank you to both of you; a couple of good suggestions and good sources.

I have worked with Joe before, and of course he makes the No. 5 (I believe he may have bought the tooling from Cohen), so that's the obvious place for me to start.  I was thiinking along different lines, thanks for getting me on the right track!
