Hi everyone,

I'm BessemerSam, but you can just call me Sam if you'd like. I'll fairly new to the hobby, I just back into it recently. For the time being, I'm going to keep it simple and small, buying up items that are rare finds (see my topic B&LE texas types). I am looking for advice as to which MRC transformers any of you would recommend for my small layout. It's o scale 2 rail with 54 radius track, it makes a "small" loop. Needs to power a Bessemer and Lake Erie 2 rail o scale Texas Type with DC power. I've already done some research and correspondence on my own, but wanted to present the question here.

Best basic DC deal IMO is a used MRC 6200, 9200, 9500 or a Control Master 20.  Each under $100 used.

The GML posted above is excellent.  However before one spends big dollars on a DC system they need to be sure that that is the direction to which they are committed.

If like many you then opt to go DCC an expensive GML purchase may be a regret.

Personally I use DCS, CM20's and Dallee Engineers.
