Did the real Pennsylvania H-10 prototype have such a high pitch whistle as the MTH model? The MTH model is quite massive. Was the prototype H-10 really that high?

Are you talking about the PRR H-10?
If so, I just checked the equipment diagram and the loco was 15' tall from railhead to top of stack. It was a large 2-8-0.
And I think many if not most PRR freight locos had a single chime high pitched whistle that got the nickname "Banshee" whistle.

Jim,
Shame on you!! You know better than to call an H10 an H-10.

Actually it should be an H10s, as they were all superheated.

Agreed. For some reason I always seem to skip the s on the superheated locomotives.
