I have these 2 locos for less than one year. The coupler knuckle will open randomly. I have disconnected the power to the coupler and the issue still occurs, so it is not an electrical / board issue. Has anyone ran into this issue with PS-3 locomotives?
This is the first I had this happen, previously, on my PS2 or PS3 locomotives.

I have the Atlas version of this MTH engine and had a bad front coupler right out of the box. Atlas fixed it in a week. Another recently purchased MTH F3 also had a bad coupler. The store was quickly able to make the repair with a new one. Many people just epoxy the defective couplers in the closed position.
Just replace it, mechanical problems aren't worth chasing in a $10 coupler.
