Mr Water, above:

"Since the B&O did not have any "Hudsons", what are you referring to?"

In fact, the B&O had four 4-6-4's, classes V1 - V4. Largely experimental, I do believe. Don't know if they called them "Hudsons" or not; not the point.

Now, I can't say that MTH ever offered one...actually I can, of course, they didn't.

Maybe the other poster was referring to a RK fantasy piece. Which is another planet entirely.

I'm also in the not too enthused to buy right now mode - concentrating on the layout rebuild - but the Canadian Pacific Holiday train caught my eye.

MTH CP Holiday Train 2017

Still annoyed that MTH still hasn't issued it's 2015 O gauge tinplate club car and from what I was told, MTH does not expect to ship 2015 AND 2016 O gauge tinplate club cars until Oct 2017.  I'm tired of the delays and likely going back to the basic $25 membership.

That Candian Pacific Holiday Train caught my eyes too, after I looked it up on youtube. Pretty cool...

Where did you find that? Is that catalogue up?

The RTR Catalog was posted yesterday. There is another thread going about it.

Shucks Steve, we just filled over 600 packages of goodies for the troops and I was trusted to make sure each one got a box of Girl Scout cookies placed inside it. These are the Lemon cookies our assortment of cases had. (I purchased some for myself a few weeks back, Delicious!

As to the catalog, I had hoped for some more signals. Think MTH will make a scale Christmas train??

The PS-2-CD, Center Discharge, high-sided, 4427 Cu Ft 3-bay covered hoppers could be produced in the Denver & Rio Grande Western 1967 scheme and the improved 1968 scheme, SL-SF FRISCO schemes from 1966 to 1971, The Louis-Dreyfuss scheme, and CARBONUNDRUM. Authentic road numbers and graphics for the PS-2-CD 3-bay covered hopper.

At the risk of being booed off this forum, I'm going to stick my neck out and say I am hoping for a few re-issues.  Fact is my O scale collection is relatively immature, so reissues work for me since I missed so much from the first time around.

I am partial to RK Imperial steam (and Pennsy), so my hope for re-issues are in that line (all PS3 of course):

  • PRR S-2.  Last done 2012 I believe.  A beautiful monster of a locomotive!
  • PRR K4.  I know, I know. Done a thousand times, but I would really like a PS3 version.
  • PRR I1 with short tender.

I can also dream for some reissues with some slight tooling updates:

  • PRR I1 with long tender riding on 8 wheel trucks.  Shouldn't be too hard for MTH to pull this off.  They already have the truck tooling from the S-2.  Besides the 8 wheel trucks are more typical for the I1 tender and the cool factor would be huge!
  • PRR H-10.  Others have suggested this upgrade.  This should also be a short put.  Add full working valve gear, replace the stock, ill-portioned headlight and marker lamps with those like the RK L1, add some grab irons, tender truck chains and voila - a sure top seller.

Finally, if MTH were to invest in tooling for just one more steamer in the RK line it would have to be the NYC Niagara!  If they were to do that re-issues of the RK Dryfus and ESE Hudsons with the PT tender would have to follow.  Count me in for those too.

There's the top of my dream list.  I think all are plausible, at least that's what I keep telling myself...

Looks like the NS Black Mane AC4400cw will be in the 2017 v2 catalog.  4004 in the Altoona blue trim is on the cover.  Likely then 4002 in the Roanoke tuscan trim will be as well.

Ok, if that's the release, I'm in on that unit. Yes, it's a remake of a that type of unit, but the color isn't a remake. It's actually made from the real unit and that paint scheme has not been done yet in black until now. I already have the AC44C6M #4000. This version I probably prefer the Tuscan Red mane more then the blue unless I caught the blue version in real life first. Only thing MTH should do though, they should come out with 4002, 4003, 4004 & 4005 so there's all version to choose from, but at least it's coming out. I've seen the 4000 twice so far in real life. So I have to have one of the brothers to him. I know the 4001 came out as well, but I want a version that's black. Only other engine if they made for modern was the GEVO Tier 4 ET44AH or ET44AC. CSX has a ET44AH.

Pretty much the reason I did not renew my membership last year.  I paid the money and have been out $90 since 2015.  I could have used it to buy other things.  Would love to know the reason for this as I thought MTH owns the factory where these are built??
