I will be purchasing 4 of these cantilever operating highway crossing signals tomorrow. On the MTH site one of its features indicates it operates either with a track activation device or an infrared device. I prefer the infrared devices. Which manufacturer supplies the infrared devices, or does MTH have them, if any are still around? Your advice/help is needed. Thank you.

IR devices are made by Lionel, Z-Stuff and Azatrax. Not sure if MTH still produces one.
They all have their pro's and con's.
If you have more than 1 track, and bi- directional train travel. I highly recommend the Azatrax D2t-Ds.
If it's 1 track with trains in 1 direction.
A Zstuff DZ 1075 should do the trick.
I find the Z Stuff detector smaller and more aesthetically pleasing than the MTH and Lionel detectors.
Do not use the MTH sensors. They have IR issues and are light sensitivie.
On one crossing I use Z stuff and on the other, I use good ole reliable insulated rail. That works every time.
Have Fun!

I ordered four Z stuff DZ1075 or 1070. Not sure. For trains going in either direction. These are for a 2 track mainline for 2 separate crossings. One crossing ( on a curve) has a third track which starts just before the crossing. It will be parallel to the 2 track mainline. So far all of your input has been very helpful. I researched based on your advice.
