Bought water tower from Trainz. Hooked it, pushed the button, motor hums, water spout does not move. Removed motor and can work the spout up and down by hand. I can see the gears, even the one where the motor goes, working when I move the spout. Replaced the nylon pinion gear on the motor shaft with a recommended new brass gear. Put the motor back in and the spout locks up and not move either up or down. Any guesses as to where the problem might be?  What would be the next step? Thanks

i am not sure what the gear pattern looks like, but other items where the gears lockup and the teeth looked good there was a hair line crack alone the base of the gear where it is pressed on to the shaft,, you may need a magnifying glass and a bright light to see it ,believe it or not it will cause the gears to lock up,just sharing my experience
