MTH announcement

I'd vote for Delaware-Lackawanna or Lehigh Valley

Maybe a central Vermont? Obviously Lionel made one a few years ago but the green was off

MTH is announbing tda Premier RS-11's....PRR, SP, L&N, MAine central.   They are up on our website for pre-order.

I wanted to do special run of D&H, but it was already taken.  Other possibilities I could do would be Delaware-Lackawanna, Lehigh Valley (big letters), or TP&W.  NH.    PC was also a big user of RS-11's, but im not a PC fan.

Any interest, LMK.  Need to sell 30 to make it a go..

PC came out not long ago. An MEC harvest gold with green stripe would also sellout.

I would be in on Central Vermont version or NH. But I prefer the Central Vermont

Beth  As you know, MTH has already done a MEC green RS  ( powered and dummy).  I am with the others who vote a CV ( WITh a caboose)-you could put me down for one of those !!   Thanks, turtle7

CV fans....  were the RS-11's ever in this scheme.  I'd love to do this.  There seems to be some blow back about doing the CV noodle scheme.  If i do the RS-11 with the CV noodle, is that OK?

I like the MEC green on yellow too, but that would be in direct competition to the MTH one in green.  MEC only had 2 RS-11's...801 and 802.  so both schemes would have the same road numbers,

Weaver made one, but that doesn't mean it was prototypically correct...

Yea, i know.    I think it was a stretch on their part. its the DSSA/CN paint scheme.  Id do it in CV if ppl wanted it tho.....since they did have Geeps in that scheme...

Beth  We need some CV experts to speak-up. Clearly it seems that the most common CV paint scheme on either their RS11s or GP9s is the green/yellow with the large CV and two stripes-that is the one I would think most ( including myself-dont forget a caboose) would prefer.  I couldn't find a CV RS11 in the paint scheme you show, but I'm sure more knowledgeable CV fans can/hopefully will pipe-in.  turtle7

Beth, if you need additional orders is is possible to team up with other dealers like Mr. Muffin's?

Without getting into it.....it just doesnt work out financially.

Well, if im going to put in for CV...i need to know if u all would like the "Classic old CV GP-9 scheme", or u want the noodles.    I like the Geep scheme a lot better, but its probably not prototypical.   Hmmmm?

I’ll go with the Geep version.

I'd prefer the Geep scheme, but would be a buyer for either.

Beth, all of the CV RS-11s came from the Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific (another CN owned RR) where they DID wear the older CN variant paint (pre-noodle). I've yet to come across when they moved to CV, which would probably determine which CV paint they got.

After a bit more research, it appears by 1978 they were still on the DW&P, but in variants of CN's red, black & white paint. Earliest pics I can find of them on the CV is 1979, all noodled up...

Same here-I prefer the CV wet noodle scheme, but sign me up frr either. Does anybody have a picture of  a Central Vermont RS11 in that ( not wet noodle) paint scheme?

Both the New Haven and the Penn Central would be nice. What about doing a blue Conrail?

Yes, a Penn Central version would be good. Some one mentioned there was a PC version that came out recently. I missed that one.

Norfolk and Western used them too. They had 99 of them…

I used to see loads of PennCentral RS-11's.  They were based out of Meadows yard for years.   Im just not a big fan of black and white diesels.

Just to be clear-I prefer the wet noodle CV RS11-but would pre-order either-so let me know   turtle 7 ( P Hering)

So far the plan is to do the older scheme.  Thats the pic i gave to MTH yesterday.   I got a few pre-orders for it yesterday, so unless there is a big uproar, we will be going with the older scheme.

That’s okay. The PC isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It is an easy paint scheme, so we can leave the more intricate paint work to the pros.

I will probably paint one in N&W blue and yellow…

There are many photos of Central Vermont RS-11 locos on rr-fallenflags.org

You have to compare all of them to get the colors and paint schemes correct.
