RJR, I agree!  I'm a member of both the MTHRRC and the Lionel RRC.  There's still something cool about flipping through a hard-copy catalog, especially with my son.  I haven't received my MTH catalog either and was thinking about emailing them, but here's why I haven't yet...

I just received the Lionel 2012 Signature Edition Catalog last week after it had been available on their website for over a month!!  I emailed Lionel twice during the one-month period asking them about the status, and questioning exactly what I was receiving for my membership $$ seeing how dealers had the catalog for nearly a month.  I will give them credit for replying very promptly to both emails: however, they blamed it on the printer and the "bulk-mail" system both times, and they never touched the "what am I getting for my $$" question...no surprise.

I figured MTH would give me a similar answer so I suppose that's why I haven't contacted them about it.  Yes, I know, I know...I'm the guy who keeps renewing my membership each year!

Got my MTH catalogs as a member of their club in the mail today. Two weeks after their deadline has past for pre orders does not say much for what they think of their own club. Actually, a friend received a set of catalogs from them by mail last week just because he is on their mailing list. Paying money upfront to be a club member is a scam worthy of a class action lawsuit.

I joined the MTH club for the first time at York and they sent me catalogs about a month ago and I received another batch today, Priority USPS.   So far I have a pin, membership card, lots of catalogs, but no access to the club web site or club car and the last two are the biggies as far as I am concerned.  Oh yeah, RTR software CD is out of stock.

What a way to run a railroad!
