Purchased a ERR Cruise Commander board and while looking the piece over, I noticed the female two-pin plug from the MTH coil-coupler does not match up to the male two-pin receptacle on the ERR board.

If there is an adapter to match the two in the ERR kit, I am too dense to see it.

I know there must be a way to make the connection, as up to this point installation has been swift.

I believe I may have to adapt something and that is not a problem. But the problem is, I don't know what that adaptation requires.

Anyone assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Larry

gunrunnerjohn,

MTTP said the use of MTH couplers could be dicey.

So you suggest using different couplers? The type offered by MTTP?

Thank you,

Larry

PS/1 couplers work fine, however the PS/2 couplers are not compatible with the TMCC boards.  Like George says, just splice on the appropriate Lionel connector.  If you bought the crimp tool I posted a while back, you can actually put the connector on without splicing wires.

MTH uses .1" pitch connectors on their 5V boards, no? Lionel makes couplers with both .1" and 2mm/.08" pitch. Trouble is the new ERR boards use the newer 2mm connectors otherwise you could just file down the connector shell to fit the connector. I am pretty sure Boxcar Bill can supply you with the correct connectors to fit the boards you have. OTOH it may just be easier to order compatible couplers. By the time you buy the pins, shells, and crimping tool plus shipping, couplers will be the better deal.
