I may be a little late to the party since MTH has (or will soon) discontinue the DCS Remote. But there are millions(?) of them out there so here is a holder for the remote so you don't have to set it on the layout (oh my - a mortal sin).
This one is pretty simple. It has three flat head screw holes to attach it to your layout or table.

I member here on the forum had came up with same very nice 3D printed remote holders. I have enough for all of our club remotes

I used to lose my remotes all the time when walking around then laying them down... where's my Remote?
No MORE! I now (consciously) place them in Ray's Remote Holders that are scattered about the layout and haven't 'lost' a remote since installing them. For the memory challenged (me) this has been HUGE!@!
