Dave,

Should I wait to get Ver 4 of your book to include the finished Wifi data.

There won't be a 4th edition of the current book. That book will stop where it its now with the Standard version of the DCS App.

A new book is in the works that discusses DCS from the point of view of the Premium version of the DCS App. It will not reference using the DCS Remote at all. There'll be some slight overlap, however, for the most part it will be an entirely new book. If I were to add the new material to the existing book, it would start to approach 400 pages which would make it a bit ungainly. Further, the print version would have a hefty price tag.

I'm working to make the new book as complete regarding the Premium version of the DCS App. as well as the WIU, as is the original book regarding what it covers.

However, if you want a book that discusses DCS from the point of view of the DCS Remote, as well as with excellent coverage of the Standard DCS App, The DCS Companion 3rd Edition is the book that you need.

The 1st edition of the new book will initially be only available as an eBook and I expect to publish it in early May, if not a bit sooner. Once it's been out for a couple of months and we have some feedback, I'll revise it (free update for those who purchased the initial eBook) and make a print edition available.

I'll be able to discuss the new book in considerable detail at York, both at the DCS User Group Meeting and at MTH's booth.

I don't really want to go whole hog - I would just love to hear my PS-2 Hudson with whistle and bell.  As I understand it, if I could get a factory reset, I could just use the little commander hand- held.  But alas, I have not yet found an easy way to get a factory reset.  Would one of these "apps" be able to talk to it?

A factory reset in San Diego would be optimal, but as I understand it, loading an "app" can be done without leaving the couch?

Bob:

Take it over to the San Diego 3-Railers. All you'll need is a couple of alligator clip leads connected from the engine to the TIU and they can send a factory reset code to your engine.
