MTH Diesel Smoke Units?

I have found three of my dozens of engines stopped smoking even though fans are running. Replaced wicks. Soaked wicks. Fan runs when turned on but no smoke. If you put your finger over the fan unit hole and then remove it you get a quick puff of smoke but that is all. All seems well when running but no smoke. Any ideas?

Take your continuity meter and put one probe on the heater pad on top of the board and the other on your smoke reservoir. If you get continuity you have the heaters inside kissing the reservoir. Not uncommon to see this .
