When some of my engines start up and run the clickity clack comes on automatically. When this happens the horn, bell and sounds no longer function. I've turned clickity clack off in the sound menu, but that doesn't help. Thanks for any input.

Check the battery in your PS2 engines. If it's weak or dead, the settings change will not survive turning track power off and then back on.
This and a whole lot more is all in “The DCS Companion 3rd Edition!" This book is available from many fine OGR advertisers and forum sponsors, or as an eBook or a printed book at OGR’s web store! |
Replace battery with BCR. Problem solved.
Thanks guys, but the engines in question are PS3. The engines run around the track a few times then suddenly go into clickity clack mode and sounds go mute?
Does it play shut down sounds when power turned off? If so should remember change. G
Yes G,
really odd. Engines start up fine, run a few times around the track, all sounds working fine. Then unexpected turn to clickity clack, after a while clickity clack turns off and all sounds return. Shuts down normally.
Weird.
Joe
clickity clack turns off when there's a speed change or the engine is stopped I think. That is normal. You should be able to turn it off with DCS. What version of DCS is loaded into the system?
Thanks Joe,
that's probably it. I noticed it can change with different speeds. I have the latest version I believe it's 5. I know I can run the wifi application. Which by the way is fun. I'll try shutting of the clicity clack before I start up the engine

Joe,
I'll try shutting of the clicity clack before I start up the engine
In your first post, you stated:
"I've turned clickity clack off in the sound menu, but that doesn't help."
Why did you say that if you didn't do it? If you hadn't said that, most likely your problem would have been resolved with the first reply.
Sorry Barry,
I should have been clearer. When I turned off the clickity clack the engine was already running w/CC. I thought it would behave much like when I turn on and off smoke while engine is running. Sorry for confusing the situation.
