PS-2 or PS-3? May have some sort of binding with one motor forcing surge. Check tires, take shell off and rotate flywheel by hand to see if one motor binding. Grit in gears, etc.... G
Marcus I took off cover and had wheels spin freely . Also lifted off tracks to let them spin freely at high speed with power on . No luck
can anyone help here?
Does it behave like that with shell off?
When you lifted off track and ran, did it exhibit the same surging behavior? With shell on? With shell off?
Does it behave the same in Conventional Mode?
Does the amperage reading surge?
with shell off same thing stop and go with break sounds , when lifted off the wheel spun perfectly no stop and go or surge or brake sounds
did not try conventional mode.
I assume it behaves thus anywhere on the layout and no other engine acts this way? Agree also you might test it in conventional mode.
The fact that it makes brake-squealing sounds means to me it isn't some kind of mechanical binding issue.
I just performed an experiment on a PS3 SW1500. Under DCS (Remote Commander) control, with the engine moving along nicely cutting track power does NOT cause the brake-squealing sound so I don't think your problem is power cutting out or track dead-spots. I think it is in the electronics.
just tried conventional mode same issue except do not hear brake sounds stops and goes irratical
do you think its time to bring it in for service , since I agree its not mechanical?
