That soft key is not available in a lashup. The problem is that they have the charge lights programmed as a part of the directional lighting package. They should have them set to ON regardless of position and direction. I dont know if its a programming function or the way its wired.

What version of the DCS software do you have loaded? I'm still at 4.01 but I wonder if we were at 4.2 will there be access to such features?

Yep, I just tried it myself. I had the hybrid as the tail engine in a 3 engine lashup. Everything worked as it should with the exception of the charging lights until I hit reverse then they popped on. Maybe this feature can be addressed if they revise the file for sounds anyway then they might be able to adjust the programming as well so when we load it will be all addressed in one swoop!

All you have to do address the hybrid as a single engine and turn off the charging lights if that is what you want. When you want them on do the same thing. Then go back to your lash up. This is the way it has to be until MTH comes up with a revision of the software to do it during the lash up.

question about the Hybrid pricing.   Did I miss something about MTH raising the price of this new Hybrid engine.   My LHS said the price went up on that Hybrid set from $499. that was listed in the 2009 V2 catalog to $529.95......todays price.

Did I miss this announcement from MTH?

Did anyone else pay more for the set now, then was listed in that 2009 catalog?

I got my engine today and it runs perfect.  Well done.

I didn't think manufacturers are allowed to do this.   If people knew this at the beginning then nobody would have ordered this.

No... Most dealers will honor the price they published when taking orders. I got in for under $450 as recently as earlier this year, and paid a 10% deposit to hold that price -- knowing the locomotive was due out in May after seeing pre-production images on the MTH Facebook site.

The new price is for the next run supposedly due out in October -- not for those folks who may have ordered 2-3 years ago.

P.S.  Quite frankly, $529 is still a great price when you consider you're getting the laboratory car with a nicely detailed diesel locomotive... all for roughly half the price of Lionel's Vision Line version for the diesel alone -- albeit a fully die cast version.
