MTH Issue - I need help identifying the problem.

I have an engine that “seems” to run fine in forward, but when in reverse, the gears of the rear truck seem to “catch” on each turn of the wheels. The gears all look fine - nothing seems lodged in a gear - I grease and oil routinely - not sure why this is happening or what I need to do to fix it. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!!!

Posted a video for reference.

The motor might need shimmed up too.  A bunch of engines came out last year that did not have the worm gear pressed on far enough.  MTH shimmed the motors.

Forward and reverse pulls the armature in opposite directions.  That is why one direction is OK.  The other direction is the worm gear hitting the bottom pocket in the truck.

A pretty easy fix.  You would see the motor shift if the mounting bolt was loose.
