After about an hour or two of run time, my headlight appears to have burnt out. I have not tried to remove it yet, cannot find a part breakdown. Is it a screw in or a bayonet. Is it a special voltage and will I do harm if I use an incorrect type?

I would be carefull with the bulb. If it is a PS-3 the bulb should be an LED like my PS -3 AF presidential. It should be a screw in bulb. I would get in touch with MTH. I damaged a board on my 400E by trying to replace the incondecent with an inexpensive screw in LED. The board and bulb didn't play nice together.
Chris, I'm curious how you damaged a board with a replacement LED. If you had an incandescent bulb, that would be a PS/2, and unless you shorted the light power, I don't see how the LED bulb damaged it.
To be honest with you John I'm not sure either? I may have very well shorted something. Marty worked on it for me and made it right. It probably had nothing to do with the bulb but once bit twice shy. If I add any kind of lighting I come straight from the roller and stay clear of the board.

Maybe you turned it off with the handheld by mistake.

I had already checked that. Now for the fun part. Today at the show, I put another P3 384 on the other loop, and just for fun swapped the bulbs between the two. Both lit up nicely. Go figure 
You never know but we still love are trains anyway!
